Now that I’ve started down an Etsy path I’ve found another artist that I had to share, Virginia Kraljevic. She does both illustrations and pen and ink drawings and her line drawings are awesome from the repetitive, meditative perspective.

Cream Puff – I really like her titles. It’s funny, since I saw Meander’s work I started trying to replicate these in my notepads on conference calls at work – it is NOT easy. That makes sense of course but even if you think you have a steady hand, it’s not steady enough to create this sort of regularity. Seriously.

I love again, the cartoon wave qualities of these pieces. This one though looks more like a bridesmaids hairdo to me for some reason – perhaps it’s the slew of weddings we’re going to in October starting to creep closer into my mind!

How cool is that. I feel like (and it could be the shape making this thought happen) but that this would make a great placemat. At my old apartment, my roommate had these gorgeous placemats that were dahlias – this reminds me of them, appropriately called Leafy.

Fan of a Fan, looks like a pile of hand peeled apples to me. You know when you peel an apple with a knife in your hand (not the recommended tactic per se) and it ends up a little jagged, a little disjointed? That’s what this could be – though it’d be on big apple!

I mean…I don’t even need to explain why I included Virginia’s work, Yarn. The yurt, the weaving, the love :)

I love how these pen and ink repetitions can create line density in a way that other mediums I think don’t. This piece, Sailor’s Knot, is a great example. The parts that are darker are random, where the line density got to much that it built a division. If I had to speculate I’d guess the piece was started where those are closer together in the lower left but who knows!
